Was down here playing last week (Jan 18, 2022) and drove by this course and remembered playing here back in May 2012. So I looked up my old scorecard when I got home to refresh my memory of how it played then and looks now.

Course is fairly flat with mature bordering trees that were open for play as a nine (9) hole layout in 1964. Having only two (2) tees laid out with Blues 2,684yds / 32.9 / 105 and Reds 2,111yds / 32.0 / 102 on this Par 35 layout. Typical smaller round flat greens were in average shape, speed (7-8) being slightly elevated and no real protection like traps or bunkers. Fairways were generous and a little spotty in places as they were mowed too tight, too early.

Starting on #1 a 250yd Par 4 has a narrow chute with overhanging branches that keeps the driver in the bag and hitting a long iron for an easy 2nd pitch shot to the very small round green. Coming back on #2 is a 147yd Par 3 to a small raised, tipped forward green that holds very nicely. The #3 is the longest hole at 475yd / Par 5 with large full trees boarding at 150yds out from green, so stay in the middle if getting on in two (2) is in your plan. There Hcp 1 hole is #4 Par 4 at 370yds with a hidden creek crossing about 220yds out from the Blue tee's and trees down the complete left side, so choose wisely. The #5 a 304yd Par 4 has trees down the left-hand side and playing to the 100yd marker (trees tighten up at 80yd marker) will allow you to swing a shot to hold on this very small elevated green. The #6 Par 3 is another small slightly elevated green at 169yds to hit and hold. The #7 is a 405yd dogleg right Par 4 that has another hidden creek crossing about 270yds out to a larger elevated green that holds. Coming back is #8 a 455yd Par 5 with trees boarding fairway making the view seem very tight and a sand trap guards the left side of the larger size green. The #9 is a short 109yd Par 3 with a front sand trap guarding a very large flat green. I ended up playing a "Double Loop" for my walking 18 holes in 2.5hrs and shooting 77 w/31putts for $16 on a sunny Wednesday afternoon.

Nice course to work on playing to yardages that give your 2nd shots to small greens some spin to hold or short "Up & Downs" too.

Tight fairways with trees on one side, out of bounds on the other keeps this a challenging course for the average duffer. The staff have removed several trees that made the course one of the most challenging when trying to approach the greens. Improvements on the bunkers keeps you on your toes when making approach shots have replaced the trees. Greens are not stingy but not too easy to make it in two if you place your shots more than 15 feet away. Numbers 3, 7 and 9 all have slopes that make putting either exasperating or exhilarating depending upon pin placement.

Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Ranks with the best in this price level
